FALL FLAVOR COLLAB

This fall, Morgenstern's owner Nicholas will be working with graduates of The Sylvia Center’s Teen Apprenticeship program to develop three unique flavors exclusively for the Art of Cooking 2017 gala that reflect TSC’s mission and the diverse cultures and culinary backgrounds of our students. Art of Cooking guests will have a chance to vote for their favorite flavor, and the winning flavor will be sold in Morgenstern’s for the month following the event.

The Sylvia Center's mission is to inspire young people and their families to establish independent healthy eating habits so that they may lead healthy and productive lives.

FOOD SEX ART

Morgenstern's Finest Ice Cream is excited to announce its latest collaboration: two original flavors inspired by recipes from FOOD SEX ART, the Starving Artists’ Cookbook & Video Series; a collection of video art and original works on paper gathered by artists Paul Lamarre and Melissa Wolf (EIDIA House) during the late 1980s to document the culinary practices of creative communities in New York City's East Village and beyond. Fournier Fine + Rare will exhibit the archive during Printed Matter’s New York Art Book Fair, September 21–24, 2017, at MoMA PS1.

Morgenstern’s founder, Nicholas Morgenstern, created Blackened Banana, a fluffy roasted banana ice-cream available as a blackened banana split at the counter or as scoops, and Mock Apple Pie served with layers of Ritz crackers, based on conceptual recipes found in the Starving Artists’ Cookbook and these flavors will be available from Mon/Sept 18-Sun/Sept 24th at the parlor, the whole week of the exhibit. More info on the show and archive below.
